Printing of photos for personal use
If you want a copy of one of my pictures to stick on your fridge or use in a school project or to cover a photo of your “ex”, then please feel free to print anything you like from my site. For the best quality reproduction, please contact me for the original file. For the best quality you may wish to go to your local professional photo lab and have them make a print from an original digital file (not a compressed, low quality JPEG file as seen on the website), available upon request. Even the pictures on the Photography Portfolio side of the site are low quality JPEG images not suitable for proper printing.
Non-commercial Web use of photos
If you have a personal home page or non-commercial Web service, please feel free to use my photographs with a hyperlinked credit on every page where one of my photos appears. Acceptable HTML is
photographs courtesy <a href="http://www.MichaelDogan.coom/">Michael Dogan</a>
That way people know who took the picture and can also find my online copyright statement. You do not need to pay for usage.
Commercial Web use of photos
If you would like to use my pictures on a commercial page, then please do the following:
- register the URL with me (via email is acceptable)
- add the hyperlinked credit as above on every page where a photo appears)
You do not need to pay for usage either, although I do reserve the right to deny usage on sites that I find to be inappropriate.
Note: pictures of people on my pages may not include model releases for commercial use. Prior to using a photo containing recognizable individuals for commercial purposes, please contact me to inquire whether or not a model release is available and any additional licensing requirements which may apply.
Special Usage Rights of photos
Non-Profit – If you represent a non-profit organization and want to use one of my photos in a printed brochure or magazine, you can do so at no charge with a “Photo courtesy http://MichaelDogan.com” credit. For reproductions of any size you probably want to process and reproduce from the original digital RAW image. To obtain the high resolution image please contact me and I’ll upload the original file to my server for your download and use. Also please note that RAW image files are high resolution and have better detail in shadows and highlights but require special tools for processing. If you do not have the tools available to process the images, I can be of assistance upon request.
Musical Groups – If you represent a musical group and want to use one of my photos for cover art, you can do so at no charge with a “Cover photo courtesy http://MichaelDogan.com” credit on the liner notes. As noted above, if you wish to use a photo containing images of recognizable individuals, please check with me first to ensure that the appropriate model-release is available. If convenient, please mail me a copy of the finished product to Michael Dogan, 5840 Alder Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15232. If you end up winning a Grammy and making it big… feel free to send a check to the same address, otherwise, thanks for your artistic contribution to the world. =)
Artists - Artists are welcome to use these photos as a basis for a drawing or painting in exchange for a credit. If an image of the artwork is displayed on the Web, credit should be a hyperlink to http://MichaelDogan.com with a note “Partially based on a photo from http://MichaelDogan.com”. Otherwise the same note can be used in a printed description of the work.

Phillip is the original creator of one of my favorite websites, Photo.net. His website provided me with an incredible amount of information on photography.
