Welcome to New Orleans!
After a wonderful Christmas in Lancaster with Laruen’s family, we headed off to the thriving metropolis of Roanoke, to visit mine. Passing through Washington D.C. it occurred to me that I should give Bongo a ring and see if she was around to meet Lauren, and grab a bite to eat.
Sure enough she was, and off the three of use headed to the same darn place Bongo makes me eat every time I visit. Fair enough. The foods good, and its just a short walk from her pad.
Bongo mentions that she is going to visit Kieron for New Years. Lauren and I hadn’t really decided on anything in particular, although we had seriously considered to head back to Lancaster for the shin-dig her family was planning. But New Orleans… now THAT was an idea!
Before we had left Bongo’s house, I had made our flight reservations. We headed on to Roanoke, and hung out with the parental unit and lil brother for a few days, and then headed off to meet up with Kieron, Amber, Bongo, and Jose.
It the first visit to New Orleans (NOLA) for both of us, and we both loved it! And of course Kieron is always a gracious host… although he did mention something about not being invited back for another eight or nine months. Pfffft.
